¿Qué es?
La ECOGRAFÍA es una prueba que nos permite ver los órganos abdominales sin producir ningún daño sobre ellos.
¿Cómo se realiza?
La técnica consiste en aplicar un aparato sobre el abdomen que emite una señal de ultrasonido que a su vez es recogida y tranformada en una imagen que nos permite identificar los diferentes órganos intraabdominales, como el hígado, la vésicula y los conductos biliares, el páncreas, el bazo, los riñones, la vejiga, las asas intestinales y las grandes venas y arterias.
¿Para qué sirve?
Esta técnica es muy útil para hacer una primera aproximación al interior del abdomen sin producir ningún daño, ya que es totalmente inocua, no emite radiaciones, lo que nos permite identificar si existen lesiones en el hígado, la presencia de piedras en la vesícula, inflamación en el apéndice, siendo así una herramienta diagnóstica fundamental para el especialista en Aparato Digestivo.
¿Qué preparación hay que hacer?
Este procedimiento no requiere de ninguna preparación especial, aunque se recomienda acudir en ayunas, sin comer ni beber nada al menos 6 horas antes del procedimiento, puesto que esto facilita la correcta visualización de determinados órganos intraabdominales.

What preparation needs to be done?
This procedure does not require any special preparation, although it is recommended to go on an empty stomach, without eating or drinking anything at least 6 hours before the procedure, since this facilitates the correct visualization of certain intra-abdominal organs.
